Project engineer

 

Job Summary: The Project Engineer will support and drive all phases of construction projects, from planning through execution, ensuring that MZN’s high standards of quality, safety, and integrity are achieved. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients.


Key Responsibilities
•    Project Coordination: Assist in planning, scheduling, and managing construction activities to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. Support project managers and superintendents in overseeing field operations and subcontractor performance.
•    Trustworthy Communication: Maintain transparent and consistent communication with clients, subcontractors, and team members. Provide accurate project documentation, reports, and updates that foster trust and reliability.
•    Mindful Problem-Solving: Approach challenges with foresight and careful consideration of project impacts. Support conflict resolution with a focus on maintaining positive relationships and project momentum.
•    Zealous Collaboration: Bring enthusiasm and commitment to project teams, contributing ideas and energy to drive successful outcomes. Foster teamwork and a solutions-oriented mindset on every job.
•    Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure work is performed to MZN’s high standards, emphasizing safety, craftsmanship, and excellence. Monitor compliance with project specifications, building codes, and industry regulations.
•    Financial & Document Control: Assist with tracking project budgets, change orders, and cost reports. Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and project documentation with precision.

Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred.)
•    3–5 years of experience in construction project engineering or a similar role.
•    Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
•    Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
•    Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or equivalent.)
•    Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc.
•    Conscientious with great attention to detail.
•    High school diploma; successful completion of an apprenticeship.

Preferred Skills
•    Professional certifications (e.g., EIT, PMP, LEED AP) are a plus.
•    Experience with commercial and complex construction projects.
